Share URL with highlighted text

Sharing URL with others is good when the information is limited. However, many times it happens that you want to share URL with highlighted text so that it saves a lot of time in scrolling and searching specific content in a web page.

This trick will help you to achieve the same task. Generating a URL with highlighted text is as easy as copy and paste. All you need to do is following three steps,

  1. Copy URL e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Wikipedia
  2. Add the following text at the end of the URL #:~:text=

eg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Wikipedia#:~:text=

3. Copy the text you would like to highlight at the end of URL. Let say we want to highlight text Articles summarizing each year

eg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Wikipedia#:~:text=Articles summarizing each year
